Introduction

In this lecture series, we will present the small radio telescope observations in Hong Kong, and discuss the corresponding theoretical and observational principle of radio astronomy. The radio astronomy school will consist of four lectures.

Lecture 2

Introduction to remote radio observation, including the virtual tour of the Hong Kong Stanley Ho Astronomical Observatory. Simple data processing methods will be presented by making use of fitsviewer or dedicated software written in Python. We will present the data collection algorithms used in the radio telescope. Two different observational methods will be discussed.
